A cornucopia of information and memorabilia about the influential blues guitarist B.B. King, B.B. KING TREASURES features numerous facsimiles of ancient postcards from the artist`s private collection, pictures of old posters from his early shows--even a copy of his mother`s farming record, which finds her still owing money to the farm owner from whom she sharecropped when she died. Further emphasizing King`s humble Mississippi beginnings, there are pictures of the tractor he rode, which the farmer later put on display. King`s rise in the music business is traced in sepia-tinted photographs and in the artist`s comments--there`s a shot of him and a young Elvis Presley at a live Memphis radio show, another of him performing (in shorts) with a horn section, and one of Big Red, his first touring bus. Booking sheets from the 1970s show both the huge number of miles King covered on tour (the cause of his two divorces), and the steadily rising fees he commanded. Including a CD with extensive interviews with the master guitarist as well as two previously unreleased tracks from the 1960s (one with a star-studded lineup of young British blues musicians), TREASURES is a luxuriously appointed tribute to a blues legend.
