It`s the early 1960s, and when the diner where she works is ripped off by inept thieves, the money somehow ends up in the hands of Dahlia Jean Coker. She immediately sees her chance to get out of her backwater Tennessee town, and takes off with Cole, one of the robbers, in his Elvis-esque pink Cadillac. As they drive around the country on a mini-crime spree, Dahlia and Cole are pursued by Dahlia`s mother and by Cole`s former partner-in-crime.
