Mannheim Steamroller-Xmas Angel Full Description

A family story depicted on ice with music by Mannheim Steamroller, Christmas Angel was first broadcast on NBC in December of 1998, and is, perhaps, the most extravagant ice skating spectacular ever made. It is a classic tale of good triumphing over evil, told in an enchanting way with ice skaters portraying the characters, as a decorative angel is stolen from atop the village Christmas tree by an evil gorgon on Christmas Eve. The presents come to life to rescue the angel and turn the gorgon to good. Once the angel is rescued and placed back atop the tree, Christmas is once again restored. The production stars Dorothy Hamill, Elvis Stojko, Tonia Kwiatkowski, Rudy Galindo and a cast of thirteen national and international Olympic and World Champion ice skaters. With ice skating choreography by the incomparable Randy Gardner, and including the talents of the renowned British film director Andy Picheta (Lord of the Dance) this is truly a world-class skating spectacular. The story is narrated by Grammy award-winning composer and arranger Chip Davis and superstar Olivia Newton-John. The music from Mannheim Steamroller features selections from their three multi-platinum Christmas recordings as well as additional tracks.
